Regulations 21K 2021
30th VALENCIA HALF MARATHON TRINIDAD ALFONSO EDP 2021
General information
Artile 1: Organiser
Covid-19 Restrictions
In accordance with the current regulations established by the Department of Health of the Generalitat Valenciana, no COVID passports or tests (PCR, antigen tests…) will be required by the Organiser to participate in the run.
The participants must comply with the health and safety measures established by the Organisation, thus complying with the current health regulations, which are:
The Organisation will prevent the participation of any athletes who do not comply with the measures established.
Additionally, if the Health Authorities modify the regulatory framework currently in force in terms of applicable health measures, the Organisation will inform all athletes so that they can be aware of and comply with the new requirements. If the participants are unable to prove compliance with the new requirements as per the modification of the regulations, they will not be able to participate in the run.
Exceptionally, if the Organisation receives notification from the Health Authorities of the prohibition to hold the run with the number or runners initially planned, the Organisation will determine a model of drawing to randomly choose the participants until the new maximum allowed is completed, giving the rest the opportunity to get back 100% of the amount paid for their registration. However, the Organisation reserves the right not to hold the event if the maximum allowed by the authorities is substantially reduced from the one initially planned or conditions are imposed that render its holding unfeasible.
All registered runners will be able to get their money back until 5 October 2021 by requesting it via e-mail to info@valenciaciudaddelrunning.
Notifications: All announcements to runners will be sent to the e-mail address provided by the participants at the time of registration, or to the e-mail address subsequently modified through the procedure authorised by the Organisation for that purpose, in the event that they decided to change it.
In addition, runners expressly agree to follow the instructions and restrictions imposed on them in accordance with the health management of the event. At the time of registration, a COVID-19 awareness self-declaration will have to be signed including the details to ensure the traceability of participants.
Anyone not following these rules will not be authorised to participate in the run.
Article 2: Rules
The 30th Valencia Half Marathon Trinidad Alfonso EDP, an officially approved 21,097.5-metre urban foot race, will be open to anyone with a bib, whether federated or not, and foreign athletes who comply with the RFEA-World Athletics rules can participate, as long as they are over 18 years of age on the day of the race. The asphalted, urban circuit is certified by the AIMS/RFEA, and all the kilometre points are marked with a signpost. The event is included in the IAAF International Calendar. The race has the distinction of holding a World Athletics Gold Label.
The organisers reserve the right to close registration if the maximum race capacity of 12,000 bibs is reached in order to ensure sustainable growth in numbers, a quality experience and the highest possible safety for all participants.
Article 3: Start
The race will start at 08:30 a.m. and end at 11:35 a.m., with the official maximum time to finish the race being 2h30:00, it is not possible, under any circumstances, to exceed this time limit.
The Valencia Half Marathon Trinidad Alfonso EDP will start in waves in order to improve the comfort and safety of all the runners, in the order of the accredited personal best times. Before the race, each participant will receive an email notifying them of their corresponding wave, which will also be indicated on their race bib.
- Elite Race and Yellow bibs numbers will start at 8.30 a.m.
- Green bibs numbers will start at 8.45 a.m. (Second wave)
- Blue numbers bibs will start at 9.00 a.m. (Third wave)
Wheelchair athletes and blind athletes who wish to do so will start at 8.45 a.m. in the second wave.
The decision to have three starting times does not in any way affect the complete and correct timing of all athletes, whichever heat they start in. The organisers reserve the right to establish further departure times, for reasons including safety, organisational need and/or logistics, among others. Under these circumstances, those concerned will be notified in sufficient time to ensure the proper organisation and preparation for the event.
NOTE: Any runner arriving at km 10 after 10:15 a.m. on 24 October 2021 must compulsorily hand in their bib, abandon the race and/or get into the sweeper vehicle as they will exceed the projected time limit set by the organisers for the end of the race (2 hours and 30 minutes).
Personal Bests and Boxes
Article 4: Personal best time and setting off
The only data the organisers will take into account when making the classifications for a category will be those provided by the runner themselves on their registration form.
There will be 3 different starting waves at three different times. These will be ordered solely and exclusively based on the number and colour of the race bib, in accordance with the start time indicated in Article 3.
To prove how fast you are, and to place you in the wave with runners of your level, we verify the data collected at the time of your registration. Some are automatically verified by checking them against the results from our previous races.
In other cases, we will ask you for additional information with a URL or link to an approved race in which you have participated in the last three years with an equivalent time (previous ranking in approved 10K, half marathon or marathon). Regardless of the above, all runners who register with the aim of finishing the half marathon under 1h46:00 must provide proof of their previous best time in a marathon, half marathon or 10K in the last three years either through the procedure available on the registration website, or at the request of the organisers at a later date.
Article 5: Changing start wave
Due to the exceptional circumstances, the organisers will not allow the starting time, box or wave to be changed for the 2021 race. Each runner must accept the responsibility and commitment to accept their starting line-up at the time of registration and to provide proof of their personal best records. Therefore, the athlete accepts that the starting box or starting wave selected at the time of registration will be the one that corresponds to them.
Registration and prices
Article 6: Registration
6.1 Maximum capacity and prices
The maximum capacity of 12,000 participants is already filled with the 2020 registrants who decided to transfer their bibs to 2021.
However, in anticipation that the health requirements or participants freely dropping out and getting a refund will leave places available, a waiting list will be opened for new registrations at a single price of 60 euros*, subject to availability. Runners who register on this waiting list will be subject to the same Covid-19 requirements, and will have to prove they meet them, so the process of registrations will close on 15 October 2021.
(*) This price does not include the obligatory Day Licence (3 euros) for runners who do not have a valid national licence (RFEA), Valencian regional licence (FACV) or Carnet del Corredor Plus. Promotions offered by the event will be communicated to those interested and will not be cumulative.
In all cases, registration will close when the maximum capacity of 12,000 registered runners has been reached, thus guaranteeing a sustainable growth in the number of runners, a quality experience for the runners and the best possible safety conditions.
The organisers will set up a waiting list via the official website to fill any vacancies that may arise due to runners dropping out of the race.
6.2 Registration for persons with disabilities:
All athletes with disabilities, who can be included in any of the 4 adapted categories, will enjoy a 50% discount on registration, taking into account the sections and dates indicated above, provided they meet the Covid-19 prevention requirements described above, and if there are bibs available.
To compete in any of the four adapted categories (wheelchair, functional disability, sensory disability and intellectual disability), registration must be formalised with FESA (Valencian Community Adapted Sports Federation), whose contact email is direccion-tecnica@fesa.es, and telephone +34 96 346 57 26. FESA provides its criteria, knowledge and experience to ensure the correct grouping into the different categories.
Athletes who, for whatever reason, do not register through FESA, will not be classified in any of the four disabilities categories, nor will they receive a discount.
Blind or visually impaired (B2) athletes who so require, will have the right to be accompanied by a guide whose registration will be 100% free of charge and will be solely handled through FESA. There can only be one guide for each athlete with visual impairment.
6.3 Registrations will be made through the website https://tickets.valenciaciudaddelrunning.com (As long as bibs are available)
The website https://tickets.valenciaciudaddelrunning.com/ managed by S.D Correcaminos is the only official online distributor authorised to register runners for the race, so under no circumstances is it recommended to register or purchase race bibs through other platforms.
The organisers are not responsible for the reliability, veracity and/or suitability of registrations made through third parties, nor do they assume any obligation regarding the availability of places, stock and/or price.
no warranty, cancellation, exchange and/or any other rights granted to registrants are guaranteed if the products are not the official ones or have not been obtained from S.D. Correcaminos and/or the website https://tickets.valenciaciudaddelrunning.com/.
The above is without prejudice to registrations made through official tour operators and included in travel packs, which in any case will redirect to the aforementioned website for the purpose of completing the registration directly on the authorised distribution platform.
Article 7: Changing title holder
7.1 Due to the exceptional circumstances, it will not be possible to change the bib holder for the 2021 even, in accordance with the organisation’s right to make modifications to this process, but runners will be able to request the cancellation and return of their bib until 5th October 2021, by making this request on the Valencia City of Running Self-management area.
7.2 For legal and sports reasons, but above all for safety reasons, the race bib may not be transferred to another runner without following the process provided for this and without obtaining the agreement of the organisers. In the event the organisers become aware of this circumstance prior to the race, the bib number that has been sold or transferred without authorisation will be disqualified, and the runner will not be able to take part in the race. In addition, and given the risk posed by runners who wear a bib without the knowledge of the organisers and the distortion produced in the rankings, the details of the person who gives or sells a bib will be recorded, their registration will be prevented for the following 4 years, and other marathon, half marathon and 10K organisers will be informed of their actions. In the case of athletes who are members of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA) and the Valencian Community Athletics Federation, their conduct will also be reported so that, if appropriate, the corresponding measures can be taken.
7.3 The organisers reserve the right to prevent registration in the future and to inform other races of the fate of those athletes disqualified for not having completed the full 21.097 kilometres of the course.
Article 8: Registration cancelation due to injury and refunds

Runners who are not registered or run without a bib or without the official bib for the current edition of the race will not be admitted by the organisers, who will prevent them from having access to the race in defence of the rights of those who are legally registered, especially in view of the Covid alert we are experiencing in 2021.
The Race Judges and the organisers reserve the right to disqualify any offender who, if any irregularity is detected by any runner: (i) does not wear a visible bib, manipulates it and/or transfers it to another, (ii) alters the data provided to the organisers or the Chief Referee with respect to what appears on their ID card or federation card, (iii) does not complete the entire course, shows poor physical condition, does not provide the organisers with the required documentation, or fails to comply with any other rule set out in the FACV, RFEA and World Athletics Regulation.

In this regard, appropriate civil, criminal or administrative action will be taken to hold the offender liable.
The irregularities that will give rise to the initiation of these actions include (i) not being registered for the race and therefore not having a bib/chip to participate in the race; (ii) running with the bib/chip of a third party (without having made the change of ownership or carrying it concealed); (iii) running with a bib/chip that does not correspond to that of the race; (iv) running with a falsified bib/chip (photocopied document or one that imitates the bib). This list is given by way of example and is not exhaustive, and there may be other irregularities that may give rise to legal action on the part of the organisers.
Both those who commit such irregularities and those who assist them in carrying them out will be identified as “corredores infractores”.
Any runners who are identified as “offending runners” by the organisers on the day of the race will be removed, identified and expelled by the race security personnel, in the exercise of their powers, in addition, identification details, photographs, etc. will be obtained from them, which will be used for the purpose of taking the appropriate legal action.
In the event the infringement becomes known after the event has taken place, appropriate action will be taken at the time the infringement becomes known.
The “offending runners” will receive notifications and/or summonses relating to the proceedings in which their possible liabilities will be judged, in order they can take part in the proceedings.

Any runner who, having been required to pass this control, refuses to do so, will be automatically disqualified from all the rankings and prizes to which they may be entitled. Therefore, athletes who pass the test and are entitled to receive a financial prize will have to wait for the result of the test before receiving the prize.

22.1 By registering for the Valencia Half Marathon Trinidad Alfonso EDP, participants give their consent so that both the race organiser, S.D. Correcaminos, as well as the Main Partner of the event, the Trinidad Alfonso Mocholí Valencian Community Foundation, and any other event Sponsor and/or Collaborator, on their own behalf or through third parties, may store, process and use their name, results, as well as their image collected during the event by means of photographs, videos, live tracking or position estimation on the course during the event on the official app, or any other medium, and process for exclusively sporting, promotional or commercial purposes, their personal data, as well as their image during the event by means of photographs, videos, etc. by means of any device (internet, advertising, etc.) and without any time limit.
22.2 The list of results will be published on the website.
22.3 The live tracking performed through the official race app can be viewed by any user who downloads the application for free, which is available in Google Play and Apple Store. This option allows participants in the race to be tracked in real time using their name or bib number. This feature is offered to runners so their family, friends and the general public can locate the runner on the course.
By default, the tracking is performed through the runner’s chip that connects to sensors distributed along the route. Between each sensor, the application takes the average speed of the runner to estimate their location, so the location may not be completely accurate during these periods. The app also offers the option to enable GPS tracking in case the runner is carrying a mobile device. In this case, the tracking of the runner will be as accurate as the app allows. Neither the organisers, the main partner nor the sponsors are responsible for the accuracy of any location reported on the app.
Through the “LiveTracking Privacy Info” option on the app, the runner can configure this functionality, so that the display can be (i) Public: any user can see where they are by entering their name or bib number; (ii) Pin code protected: only users to whom the runner provides the pre-established pin can track them; or (iii) Hidden: nobody can track the runner.
Neither the organisers, nor the sponsors, nor the main partner will be held responsible for any possible errors in the location reported on the app.
