3700 runners have signed up for The Trinidad Alfonso Marathon since registration was opened a month ago.

With the arrival of March and the end of the first registration period comes the first change in prices for the Trinidad Alfonso Marathon, organized by Correcaminos Athletic club and the Valencian local government. From now registration fees to take part in the fastest race in Spain will remain at the same price until June the 30th. This is the moment to think about running in the sun on one of the flattest courses in Europe and make the decision to start training and booking your flights for the event.

The excitement from the 2014 edition has continued into this year, 3700 runners have already registered for the Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Marathon. These ealry bird registrations mean that we already have a quarter of the amount of runners who did the Marathon in 2014 just 30 days after registration opened. You still have plenty of time to sign up for 2015 and be part of the Marathon in Valencia, la Cuidad del running.

The statistics demonstrate that Valencia continues to grow as a big player in the international Marathon market. In this first registration period, 20% of the total numbers registered are from outside of Spain. Italy makes up 6% of the total, Belgium 3.5% and the United Kingdom 2.5%. Furthermore there are an additional 30 countries, represented by their runners, adding to the international flavor of the Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Marathon. Some of the nationalities you may run into during the race weekend are; Mexico, Brazil, Canada and South Korea.

Our figures also show that the amount of women participating in the event is growing, 13% of the total registrations for this year’s race are women; a figure that keeps growing every year. And of course, you will also have the chance to meet the local Valencians, especially the ‘Falleros’. Falleros are members of social clubs with strong community ties that add to the event with runners, entertainment, brass bands and a lot support for the runners.
