Garmin once again provides The Official Watch for the Valencia Marathon Trinidad Alfonso EDP
Garmin will again sponsor the Valencia Marathon and the 10-kilometre race, which are being held in parallel. The company will provide The Official Watch for the trials. Garmin thus renews its sponsorship after the brand timed the last edition of the trial, which was run in a sizzling 2:05:15 by the Kenyan athlete Sammy Kitwara. The time was the fastest for the Valencia Marathon and set a new record in Spain.
In the next edition, which will be held on the 2nd of December 2018, all eyes will again be on Garmin. The brand will mark the times of the thousands of runners as they cross the Finishing Line. As the athletes put on a final spurt over the boardwalk spanning the artificial lake at Valencia’s City of Arts and Sciences, their performance will be logged by the brand’s chronograph.
In the days before the event, Garmin will have a stand at The Runners’ Fair in Valencia at which runners and their companions can discover all the brand’s latest innovations and the features of the Garmin Forerunner® 645, The Official Watch for the race. Moreover, the presentation box of this model will bear the logo of Spain’s best 42-kilometre trial.
In addition, in the months in the run-up to the Valencia-Trinidad Alfonso EDP Marathon and the 10-kilometre Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Race, Garmin will undertake various initiatives to encourage users to take part in the trials held in ‘The Running City’.
About the Garmin Forerunner® 645
Born to Compete. This is the Garmin Forerunner® 645, which has been chosen this year as The Official Watch for the Valencia-Trinidad Alfonso EDP Marathon and the 10-kilometre Race. The two trials will be held in parallel. The organisers have again placed their trust in Garmin and in this advanced sports watch because it offers outstanding features and data that spur runners to improve their performance with each passing day, whether it be during training sessions or when competing.
Available in two versions, the Garmin Forerunner® 645 and 645 Music. The Music model has a massive 4Gb internal memory — enough to store some 500 songs. The Garmin Express app makes it very easy to add playlists, albums and songs to the watch so that the runner can listen to his or her favourite while jogging along.
In addition, the watch is also compatible with Garmin Pay (1), which, when used for accepted banks, can make direct payments with the device (through an installed contactless chip). Indeed, within a few weeks, CaixaBank customers will be able to link their CaixaBank Visa Card through Garmin Connect and thus leave their wallets at home.
Fitted with the Garmin Elevate™ pulsimeter, and both GPS and GLONASS (the Russian global positioning system) for optimum accuracy — even in more remote areas — the watch measures the key race data (3): bio-mechanical measurements such as pace, length of stride, balance, and time in contact with the ground, as well as swaying and the vertical ratio.
It also allows the wearer to easily switch activities thanks to various profiles. This gives the user full control over training sessions and recovery from them. Once the training session has ended, the user can download all the data and analyse and compare them on the Garmin Connect platform.
