Improvements and innovations in the 2016 Valencia Marathon
2016 Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Marathon incorporates new features with the object of enhancing even more the amazing race held on the next 20th November.
- The first of the novelties is the starting time. It will start at 8.30, at the same time as the 10K.
- To ensure a smooth and safe start for all race participants, Valencia Trinidad Alfonso Marathon will start in three groups.
All the accredited participants until 3h 30’59’’ will start at 8.30 a.m., according to the previous order set in the registration forms.
All the participants who registered with finishing times between 3h 31’00’’ and 4h 00’59’’ will start at 8.36 a.m.
All the other participants who were registered with a finishing time of 4h 01’00’’ or more will start at 8.42 a.m.
- In order to improve runners circulation along the first metres of the race, runners will have to prove an official record in 10K, 21K or 42K to demonstrate that participants pointing out an expected record under 3h 31’ are able to achieve it, based on the table set but the technical committee of the organization, depending on the IAAF Hungarian scoring tables.
This process will be carried out by using a classification link in a race, which runners will provide in the registration, or after organization requirement.
- There will be 8 start line corrals, based on the expected record set by the runner in the registration form:
Yellow race bib: under 2h 25’ (élite men) and under 2h 48’ (élite women)
Green race bib: under 2h 50’
Blue race bib: under 3h
Orange race bib: under 3h 15’
Violet race bib: under 3h 30’
Pink race bib: under 3h 45’
Grey race bib: under 4h 01’
White race bib: 4h 01’ or more
For organizational or security reasons, and always by mutual agreement with the athlete, the organization reserves the right to exceptionally change the corral of any runner.
