Article 14: Time control and rankings
The race is controlled by the Athletics Federation Judges Committee.
There will be time controls along the route. Only those participants who run the race with the chip provided by the organisers, placed on the back of the bib, will appear in the rankings. Runners are obliged to check their chip is working properly at the corresponding stand at the Runner’s Fair when picking up their bib.
Neither the organisers, nor the sponsors, nor the main partner will assume any responsibility in case of chip malfunction.
Article 15: Infractions and disqualifications
15.1 The bibs/chip issued by the organisers are personal and non-transferable, and must be placed on the chest without being manipulated or bent. The control chip is also personal and non-transferable. Failure to comply with this article will be grounds for disqualification.
Runners who are not registered or who run without a bib or without the official bib for the current edition of the race will not be admitted by the organisers, who will prevent them from having access to the race in defence of the rights of those who are legally registered.
Likewise, unauthorised vehicles will not be allowed access. For the safety of the runners, the race judges and the organisers reserve the right to disqualify any offender who, if any irregularity is detected for any runner; does not wear a visible bib, manipulates it and/or transfers it to another runner, alters the data provided to the organisers or to the Chief Referee with respect to what appears on their ID card or federation card, does not complete the entire course, or shows a poor physical condition, does not provide the organisers with the required documentation, fails to comply with any other rule included in the FACV, RFEA and IAAF regulations or, while registered for the Valencia Marathon Trinidad Alfonso race, accesses the course and/or the finish line of the 41st Valencia Marathon Trinidad Alfonso.
It will be compulsory for members to compete in their corresponding club’s kit, and they may be penalised if they do not.
Disqualified runners will not be eligible for prizes and trophies.
15.2 Given the serious consequences this could cause the organisers and the other runners in the race, in the event of access to the race infringing the established conditions of access or any irregularity being committed, the organisers reserve the right to take the appropriate measures, in accordance with the applicable legislation.. In this regard, appropriate civil, criminal or administrative action will be taken to hold the offender liable.
The irregularities that will give rise to the initiation of these actions include (i) not being registered for the race and therefore not having a bib/chip to participate in the race; (ii) running with the bib/chip of a third party (without having made the change of ownership or carrying it concealed); (iii) running with a bib/chip that does not correspond to that of the race; (iv) running with a falsified bib/chip (photocopied document or one that imitates the bib). This list is given by way of example and is not exhaustive, and there may be other irregularities that may give rise to legal action on the part of the organisers.
Both those who commit such irregularities and those who assist them in carrying them out will be identified as “offending runners”.
Any runners who are identified as “offending runners” by the organisers on the day of the race will be removed, identified and expelled by the race security personnel, in the exercise of their powers, in addition, identification details, photographs, etc. will be obtained from them, which will be used for the purpose of taking the appropriate legal action.
In the event the infringement becomes known after the event has taken place, appropriate action will be taken at the time the infringement becomes known.
The “offending runners” will receive notifications and/or summonses relating to the proceedings in which their possible liabilities will be judged, in order they can take part in the proceedings.
Article 16: Route
The route will be marked with a line and all kilometres will be signposted in accordance with World Athletics standards. There will be liquid refreshment stations at the kilometres 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 32, 35, 37.5 and 40, approximately, as well as one final liquid and solid station in the finishing line area.
Article 17: Medical Services
Medical services will be located along the route, as well as in the start and finish areas. All registered runners are obliged to fill in the back of the bib with their name, surname, telephone number in case of emergency, whether they have a medical problem (allergy, special care, etc.) or are under specific treatment, as well as their blood group.
Article 18
The only vehicles authorised to follow the race will be those designated by the organisers. It is strictly forbidden to follow runners on motorbikes, bicycles, roller skates or any other wheeled vehicle. The Local Police and judges will remove them from the circuit to avoid accidents.
Article 19
The organisers accept no responsibility for any damage, harm or injury that participants in this event may suffer or cause to third parties, although they do have Accident and Civil Liability Insurance that will cover the incidents inherent to the event.
Article 20
Complaints must be made orally to the Chief Referee no later than 30 minutes after the official announcement of the results. The decision of the Chief Referee is not subject to appeal.
