Breakfast Run

The Bimbo Valencia Breakfast Run is held in parallel with the activities on the day before the Valencia Marathon Trinidad Alfonso Zurich. Hundreds of athletes from all over the world use the run as a final training session before taking part in the Marathon itself on Sunday.

The training consists of a gentle 30-45 minute run in the Turia Garden, covering a large part of the Jardí del Túria 5K Circuit and finishing on the finish walkway at the lake of l’Hemisfèric.

In addition, after the training you will be able to recover energy with Coca-Cola, Enervit and ColaCao and enjoy a lunch with Bimbo and Serrano.

The Breakfast Run is held in parallel with other activities on the day before the Valencia Marathon Trinidad Alfonso. Hundreds of athletes from all over the world use the run as a final training session before taking part in the Marathon itself on Sunday. The training session will be held on Saturday 3rd December at 9 a.m. and involves a gentle 30-45 minute jog. Some 2,000 runners will take part in the event, which will be held in Jardín del Turia park. The run will follow much of the Jardín del Turia 5-kilometre circuit. You can register for the Breakfast Run either online or in person.
  • The running bibs bought through the online form can be picked up on Saturday 3rd December in the Start Line area.
  • Running bibs can be bought in person before the event on Saturday 3rd December in the Start Line area.

This non-competitive event serves as the last event before the Valencia Marathon and also showcases a wide variety of Valencian cuisine. Liquid refreshment will be provided at the end of the run (water, ‘Orxata’ (a drink made from sweetened Tiger Nuts), and fruit juice). There will also be solid refreshment (’fartons’ (sweet sponge-cake), fruit, and savoury biscuits).

Shops Run the Marathon

Valencia’s City-Centre Retailers Association has long worked with the Valencia-Trinidad Alfonso EDP Marathon to ensure that as many runners and non-runners enjoy the race.

Once again this year, there will be a Shop-window Competition for associated retailers. The theme will be running the Marathon.

Points will be awarded for originality, design, use of space, and the innovativeness of shop-window displays. There will be five prizes, each of €500, for:

  • Originality and Design
  • Incorporation of wares in the shop-window
  • Public votes (number of times the photo is shared on Facebook)*

*Determined by the number of ‘shares’ on Facebook of shop-window photos taken by the general public. There will be a prize-draw of 20 vouchers of €100 each (tax included) for photo-sharers to spend as they like in the shops taking part in the competition.

Shops and associates join in ‘The Marathon Party’ with a host of discounts and special offers.

From the 2nd to the 30th of November, a hundred associated shops will join in ‘The Marathon Party’ with a host of discounts and special offers for Marathon runners and their companions.

See all the special offers/discounts shown in the Valencia ‘Running City’ App. The App can be downloaded from the ‘Marathon Party’ section of the web site.

Charity

The Pequeño Deseo Foundation has been chosen by the Organising Committee as the charity of the 45th edition of the Valencia Marathon Trinidad Alfonso Zurich.

Since 2000, the Pequeño Deseo Foundation has been improving the state of mind of children with serious illnesses by fulfilling their greatest wish in order to help them face their treatment with more strength.

It has been scientifically proven that the fulfilment of a wish generates many positive emotions and, in turn, has a great effect on the well-being of the children and on the way they cope with the illness.

In addition to the runners in their registration process, all those people, registered or not in the Valencia Marathon, who wish to collaborate with this year’s charity and cause can do so by clicking on the following button:

The charity donations given by runners when registering for the Valencia Marathon, as well as the contribution from the Z Zurich Foundation through its charity campaign ‘1 euro per finisher’, will be donated to the charity chosen by the Marathon Committee each year, to which other actions will be added.

On the other hand, it is worth noting that there are many ways in which support is being offered to charities. These are just some of the different activities through which the Valencia Marathon Trinidad Alfonso is partnering with its charity organisation:

Mini Valencia Marathon MSC

This parallel activity has been enjoyed by the youngest children since 2014 and promotes athletics from the earliest ages. The Mini Marathon is a further example of the social involvement of the Valencia Marathon Trinidad Alfonso. In addition to being an activity aimed at the youngest members of families, registration for the race involves a donation of €3 to the official charity.

Charity donation

The Valencia Marathon Trinidad Alfonso Zurich offers all its runners the option of donating an extra amount of money that will go entirely to that year’s charity.

And if you are not going to run, you can still participate by making a charity donation through this direct link.
