Trihas Gebre beats Spain’s Women’s Record in the Valencia Half-Marathon

In addition to setting a new Women’s World Record, ‘The Running City’ also bagged another record. Trihas Gebre set a Spanish Women’s Record in the only Half-Marathon event in Spain that has the IAAF Gold Label. Trihas Gebre chalked up a time of 1:09:57 in the Valencia trial — the fastest ever time for a Spanish woman runner.
The Morocco-born Spanish athlete Trihas Gebre, ran the 27th edition of the Valencia Half-Marathon wearing bib number 100. She was the sixth girl to reach the finishing line of the race, which saw women set two new records on the 22nd of October 2017.
She was awarded the EDP Trophy as the best Spanish female runner.
