Valencia Ciudad del Running will visit Treviso, Cardiff, Rome and Barcelona in March
Valencia Ciudad del Running, representing the Trinidad Alfonso Valencia Marathon and Half Marathon will be at major running fairs to promote its qualities as a top running destination. The March promotional tour will be at the runners’ fairs of Barcelona Marathon, Treviso Half Marathon, Cardiff Half Marathon and the Rome-Ostia Half Marathon.
Valencia is ever present at the top races in the world to convince runners who may still be sitting on the fence as to where they will be running in October and November 2016. Runners’ Fairs are great places to meet runners face to face and explain to them exactly why Valencia is as good as people say, and why it was awarded two IAAF Gold Labels.
Treviso, in the North of Italy and almost in the Alps is easy pickings for Valencia, whilst Northern Europe has grey skies and freezing temperatures in Winter, Valencia has blue skies and 15-19 Celsius temperatures. The North of Italy always sends a strong contingent to Valencia in October and November. Over 2,000 Italian runners came to compete in the Trinidad Alfonso Valencia Marathon, Half marathon and 10K in 2016. The short flight and great winter weather make Valencia a compelling winter running date for the Italians.
In Cataluña, Barcelona has a very big race, over 40,000 runners will visit the runners’ fair over race weekend, it’s one of the first big races in the Spanish calendar and Barcelona has an IAAF Bronze label. The most competitive race in March will surely be the Cardiff Half Marathon. The Welsh Capital is hosting the world Championship at this distance and the very best runners in the world will be fighting it out. The Copenhagen winners in 2014; Kipsang Kamworor (male winner) and Gladys Cherono (Female winner) will be attempting to hold on to their crowns in Cardiff.
These march race will see over 90,000 visitors to their runners’ fairs and are the most important road races of the month. Cardiff, Barcelona, Verona and Rome will be taking the baton from Verona and Seville who held very successful races in February. If you are at a running fair this year make sure you come and visit the Ciudad del Running stand to find out about Valencia’s races and why we were awarded two IAAF Gold labels, why we are one of the fastest Half Marathons and Marathons in the world…. and why Valencia is known as La Ciudad del Running.
