Valencia Marathon: more international every year

The Trinidad Alfonso Valencia Marathon has exceeded all expectations in its goal to become a premier international running event. As of the 1st of July we have 10,530 runners already registered, 26% of these runners are runners from outside of Spain. The numbers speak for themselves, Valencia is now a major event on the international marathon circuit.

The nationalities that lead the rankings are the same as the 2014 edition but this year there are even more runners coming from those countries. Italy, as always, sends the most runners to Valencia with 967 runners, as of today. Italians just by themselves make up 9.35% of the total runners in the marathon. Nestling under Italy but still with astounding numbers are Belgium (354), United Kingdom (311), France (309) y The Netherlands (229). These are the countries that bring the most runners but the total number of countries represented at the marathon has reached a whopping 52.

A large part of this international success is due to the participation of running clubs from all over the world. Many running clubs send groups of runners to participate and wear their club colors with pride. With this in mind, we would like to show you the ranking of running clubs from outside of Spain. The objective for these runners is clear; enjoy the marathon, finish and visit the city. Many already have their hotels and flights booked, many others are soon to make their decision.
