64 10K � 10K • Su eslogan prometía: “correrás sobre el agua”. Así se promocionó el 10K Valencia Trinidad Alfonso cuando nació, en 2011. Era la carrera de 10.000 metros que presumía de tener la salida y meta más bonitas del mundo: la misma que el Maratón Valencia. Este 2019, tras nueve exitosas ediciones dirá adiós al calendario nacional e internacional de carreras de ruta para dejar crecer a su hermano mayor, el Maratón Valencia Trinidad Alfonso EDP. El proyecto arrancó hace casi una década en la calle Arzobispo Fabián y Fuero, lugar donde Correcaminos tiene su sede desde hace 40 años y lo hizo para dar cabida a todos aquellos corredores que querían sentirse partícipes del gran evento que es el Maratón, pero con una distancia más asequible. La foto el primer año ya fue fantástica. El puente lleno de corredores que luego cruzarían la pasarela sobre el agua, entonces varios metros más estrecha que ahora y con un arco de llegada mucho más pequeño. La carrera fue creciendo año a año y ha ido cosechando diferentes éxitos que le han llevado a vivir una progresión envidiable en su intensa vida, convirtiéndose poco a poco en uno de los mejores 10K de España y etiqueta de bronce de la IAAF primero (2018), y de plata en 2019. UN RECORRIDO PARA VOLAR Uno de los rasgos más característicos de la ciudad del running es su orografía. València es prácticamente llana, apenas 9 metros separan el punto más alto del recorrido del más bajo. Y esto es algo que los corre- dores buscan, agradecen y, sin duda, disfrutan en este 10K. Diseñado por Blanca Iribas, Ricardo Íñiguez y Ximo Navarro, el circuito valenciano está hecho para volar por las calles más bonitas de las más de 3.200 con las que cuenta la capital del Turia, utilizando parte del trazado que recorre el Maratón minutos después por el centro de la ciudad. • Its slogan promised "you will run over the water" and this is how what is now known as the 10K Valencia Trinidad Alfonso was promoted, the 10,000m race that can boast the most beautiful start and finish in the world thanks to its location in the surroundings of the City of Arts and Sciences. It was created by the Sociedad Deportiva Correcaminos, the oldest club in the city, in 2011, next to the València Town Hall. The photo the first year was already fantastic. The bridge full of runners that would then cross the walkway over the water, then several meters narrower than now and with an arch of arrival much smaller. The project started nine years ago in Arzobispo Fabián y Fuero street, the place where Correcaminos has had its headquarters for 40 years and it did so to accommodate all those runners from Valencia and the companions of those who ran the Marathon so that they would also feel part of an event that today is the second most important in the city, behind the Fallas. A ROUTE TO FLY One of the most characteristic features of the city of running is its orography. València is practically flat, barely 9 metres separating the highest point of the route from the lowest. And this is something that runners look for, are grateful for and undoubtedly enjoy. Designed by Blanca Iribas, Ricardo Íñiguez and Ximo Navarro, the Valencian circuit is made for flying and also for doing it through the most beautiful of the more than 3,200 streets in the capital of Turia. Its flat profile, its tourist attraction and an incredible finish have led dozens of national and international athletes to achieve their best marks in the Valencian event.
